Happy at the Happy Farm - 2 weeks

Happy is putting on weight daily because she eats like a small hippo :-) Finally, she is looking like a puppy is supposed to look like: round, not square. Skin is still rather bad and she is a bit feverish at times, but all in all feeling good, vet is not worried. Happy now has her own dog run AND a dog house - not living in it yet, though, she still needs to get healthier. We have a cute video also, which I will upload later!

Happy at the Happy Farm - 1 Week

More pictures of Ms Happy. She has been here a week now and is doing a lot better! She has her own collar now, her own food dish ... and she will have her own dog run next week.

Stray Puppy "Happy"

Yesterday, Robbie and our neighbor Williams caught a stray puppy that had been roaming the streets for a while now. She is an extremely skinny, about 3 month old Female. She was in our chicken coop, eating the chicken feed ...
We gave her some water and food and put her in the art studio. The vet came in the evening and then again today, to give her shots and vitamins. Gilmar gave her a flea and tick bath. She is suffering from malnutrition mostly and we hope we can bring her back to have a good life.
We are calling her "Happy", hoping that this is what she will be after we take care of her.
Her condition is heart-breaking ...

New Widgets and Dog Art

Added some new widgets today, some news tickers on the right side under links, a bubbles game at the bottom, below the "shark" relaxer and a ticker on top, where I plan to add latest news about what is happening on the farm. Let me know if you can all see and use the widgets!

Oh, and you thought dogs cannot be artists?
Just look at this MUD PAINTING, which Molly did during the flooding. All you need is a white sheet, a bored dog and muddy dog paws, and VOILĂ€, you have your own home-made CRITTER ART!

You can send us your suggestions what you think it is supposed to SHOW :-)

Alaska and Pugsy

Alaska is always happy when her best friend Pugles (Aki's and Sheree's dog) comes over to play. They sure have a merry old time! Alaska, although said to be (and sold to us as) a lab, hasn't grown very much more. She seems to get longer legs and a longer body and looks more like a hound, skinny as she is. Her face, however, has a "touch of lab", so we decided we may have a new breed, called "Toy Lab" :-)

Alaska Dynomyte Arrived!!!

We have a new puppy!!! When we went to Redmonts Nursery with Aki and Sheree the other day to pick up some plants for the new garden area Robbie is planning, we stopped at The Garden of Eve, a little resort on the Western Highway who we heard had a "Pet Shop", where I hoped I could get some treats and bisquits for the doggies and the cat. Well, it turned out the pet shop only had carrying boxes and what was actually for sale was ... puppies ... And there was this one cutie, a black lab max with beautiful eyes and a funny grin which looked SO comfortable on Robbies arm :-) So I paid them, got a collar for her, and off we went, puppy on Robbies lap, on the way home to the farm. We called the vet right away to have her checked and he made some appointments for all required shots. Alaska Dynomite, which is her final name after we tried a few out, is a very lively and friendly doggie, she LOVES the cat and the two of them play with each other all the time! Kitty even leaves her claws in! Highlander sometimes chases her around and Magic usually growls at her like an old man, wanting to be left alone. Angel tries to ignore that bubbly black thingy that tries to chase her, but all in all the settling in went fine. Alaska figured out how to get into the house through the CAT DOOR really fast and we are now wondering what will happen when she gets to big to fit through :-) She might just get stuck in the door!! Or maybe we build a bigger doggie door ... Spoilt dogs and cats in THIS household? NAAAAW ...

OH, did I mention that she loves to steal SHOES??? My flip flops are her favorites ...

Lab Dog trying to be a Lap Dog

Spirit is not doing so good, she is very slow, not eating very much, but drinking quite a lot. We went to Spanish Lookout again to get some more extra vitamins and the milk thistle, so tonight I will cook a yummy dish for her again. This picture was taken just a few weeks ago, when she tried to climb in Robbie's lap!

It's a Dog Life! (So ein Hundeleben!)

Highlander is so lazy, but I understand him, it's really hot right now and any movement makes us all sweat ... It has started raining and YES, hurricane season started June 1, but the rain doesn't cool anything down really.
